Network Engineer
Job Location: Starkville, MS
Camgian is seeking a Network Engineer to be part of a team that is responsible for designing and implementing a scalable, maintainable, highly available network architecture that supports our growing network infrastructure that is required to deliver products meeting our business objectives and SLAs. Camgian products transform data into intelligence and provide engineering, integration and sustainment support for industrial and military platforms and systems. The successful candidate will create, oversee rollout, and serve as the point of escalation for managed network design and infrastructure, security, and computational solutions that support and sustain our software product development needs. Our products include delivery of computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Internal Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology with containerized solutions and orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premises, and via remote Cloud services. The successful candidate will have significant experience in network infrastructure engineering services comprised of core infrastructure, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. The position will report within Camgian’s Operations organization to the corporate Network Architect and be located within Camgian’s headquarters in Starkville, MS.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS (ISC BIND9), and DHCP (ISC KEA).

Experience with the lifecycle replacement and deployment of enterprise network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Expertise in network design best practices.

Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, and VPN technologies, including cloud networking.

Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for deploying network configurations.

United States Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement network infrastructure based on organizational needs.

Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.

Conduct regular network maintenance, update software and hardware as needed.

Use network monitoring tools to measure and ensure system performance, availability, reliability and security.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, encompassing both hardware and software problems.

Collaborate with IT professionals to develop and implement network security measures, including the use of pfSense and OpenVPN.
