Camgian chairman and CEO, Gary Butler, has been named Vice Chair of Vanderbilt University School of Engineering’s Board of Visitors.
The Board of Visitors was established in March 2013. The Board of Visitors is the successor organization to the school’s Committee of Visitors and the Engineering Alumni Council. Board members serve as advisers to the dean and senior staff. Their role is to provide advice, foster the achievement of excellence in all aspects of the school, review and support strategic plans, and assist in developing beneficial relationships with industry, government, and other academic institutions.
Butler is a 1994 graduate of Vanderbilt University with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Butler went on to receive his doctoral degree from the University of Cambridge. In 2006 Butler founded Camgian Microsystems.
