Camgian Recognized as Starkville Most Outstanding Business of the Year



Starkville, Mississippi– February 9, 2022 –The Greater Starkville Development Partnership has chosen Camgian as its most outstanding business of the year by awarding it the 2022 R. Clay Simmons Exemplary Enterprise of the Year. Camgian was presented the award at the Partnership’s annual banquet.

The yearly award is given in memory of R. Clay Simmons, an exemplar of Starkville’s finest in community and business leadership, and recognizes a firm that has made outstanding contributions to the greater Starkville area community and has manifested superior business practices. Specifically, the award recognizes annually an area business that has demonstrated superior leadership in civic involvement, educational advancement, economic development, and business practices.

Headquarter in Starkville since its founding in 2006, Camgian has grown into an award-winning technology company developing AI and machine learning technologies for some of the world’s leading military, financial and industrial organizations.

"When you think about Camgian, you think about not only their economic contributions to the state, but that expands to our country and even other parts of the world," said Renasant Bank CEO Mitch Waycaster.

A key attribute of the company’s culture is to drive positive impact in its communities, which it has done in the Starkville area through its work with the local food banks, Habitat for Humanity, charities, and the public school system. This includes Camgian’s creation of a middle school robotics program and course on AI and machine learning for kids.
